Worship Confessional 08.29.10
Week two of my vacation [notice on the video I don't even know what the date is anymore] found me back in Melbourne and blessed to worship at Bethany church. This has become our home away from home each summer. It has a uniquely sweet spirit. The message was on "How the Enemy Operates" and how 'today's thoughts are tomorrows actions.'
Today I served in the band and had an awesome worship experience. The plan was seamless and the congregation was actively involved from the first chorus of Our God Saves.
I really enjoyed the rehearsal and pre-service time absorbing how the dynamics of the team worked. Led by Gary Durbin who's been a friend for a few years now, it's always a joy to worship at Bethany.
Music Plan
Our God Saves [Baloche]
Holy [Brown]
Holy, Holy, Holy [Hymn]
You Are A Holy God [ Duane/Scott]

Beautiful Imperfection
I left for vacation a week ago and I've been immersed with beautiful imperfection ever since. To be honest, in the beginning it was not pretty. My view of the situation was not clear at all. After all it was my vacation. I waited all year to get away, so why shouldn't it be perfect. It took me a few days to get over me. To see beyond my selfish ideals.
By mid week I was starting to see a pattern develop. Nothing I had planned was as I thought it would be. But I was witnessing and participating in some amazing experiences. The troubles, interferences, letdowns, disappointments were producing some beautiful consequences.
This stick of clay can get downright edgy with the potter at times [Jeremiah 18:5-7]. But I love what He's taught me this week. I'll be waking with eyes wide open tomorrow... waiting to see the next beautiful imperfection.

Worship Confessional 08.15.10
This was getaway Sunday for me. Heading south for 4 weeks! We had a small team again, but it was mighty in strength. I really enjoyed the message inspired by 1 Samuel 3:1-10. Since I was preparing for a long period of down time, prayer time, and a creative season, the message on listening for God's word was perfect.
Music Plan
Mighty, Mighty [Mann]
Prayer of Focus
Fields of Grace [Evans]
One Way [Houston/Douglas]
You Could Never Be Praised Enough [Evans]
Statement of Faith
We Will Run [Gungor]
Message
Have Your Way In Me [Park]

Worship Confessional 08.08.10
Hey all... great service this morning. We were down to four pieces, and as I've grown to understand, the four God wanted. Prayers go out to those who wanted and couldn't make it today.
Our message was from Hebrews 11 and our continuing faith journey. A journey that we as a team are marching alone to each week as we continue to fill the vacation gaps this summer. God always provides!
Music Plan:
Forever Young [Mann]
Prayer of Focus
You Grace Is Enough [Maher]
Everlasting God [Tomlin]
You Give To Me [Mann]
Statement of Faith
Surely, You Are God [Mann]
Message
Standing Here Before You [Mann]

Worship Confessional 08.01.10
Our message this week had to do with community. Using the Genesis 2 story as an example of being able to bare our souls. There were some nice moments that were shared this morning in and out of the sanctuary.
This was one of those monitor gremlin days but we marched on faithfully. We opened with Our God Saves [Baloche] a great way to start the service. Lots of energy and a spiritually focusing song.
After our Prayer of Focus we started a short set with Forever Young [Mann] this was a new song that I had written for an Emerging Church Event coming this November. I was really pleased with the congregational response during and after the service. We followed that with Grace, Wondrous Grace [Mann] which we're really starting to lift up as a church.
During communiuon Mark led us in You Gave Your Life Away [Scott/Baloche]. I've read it and said it before, but what a great song. Ariel, who filled in on keyboard today, followed communion with Grace Flows Down [Bell/Giglio/Padgett].
We closed out this morning with Madison singing Still Standing [Houghton]. It continues to be a joy watching our younger singers and musicians as they mature musically and in their faith.
