Worship Confessional 05.17.09

We finished our five week series on "Being Fully Human" today with the message 'Love Everyone'... I really enjoyed the series especially since we did it during the Easter season. It really coincided with my adopted verse of the year from 1 Cor. 13:18 "Love Never Fails"

I made a last minute (11pm Saturday night) change on percussion as our regular drummer came up ill last night. It was one our youngest members (Gary... who's actually a bass player... no, let me rephrase that... he's a musician) who came through on the cajon again this morning. What a great collection of gifts our youth have been bringing to the team each week.

We opened with Sing, Sing, Sing [Tomlin] - C ... we kind of trashed the intro to this one, but got it together by the second verse.

Call to Worship - Litany - Easter People, Raise Your Voices [Trad] - A

I know Who I Am [Houghton] - A ... the congregation is starting to give a strong effort on this one.

Because of Your Love [Baloche] - G ... one of our 'get up and move' songs

Love Never Fails [Mann] - E ... this was a new one that was really well received.

Message: John 13:34-35 "Love Everyone"

Overflow [Kline, Mann] - C ... though we've done it at other services this is still a fairly new song for us... just a great vibe with lots of energy.

I think I've got a full team next week... I'm already excited!

Pray on,

Eddy

  2. Our Service was focused on that same theme - what it means to love - the title of the message was beyond (John 3:16) - very cool to see that there was similar themes across the country.
