Our focus today was on the rhythm of life... and the need for rest. The who, what, and how of the sabbath. A great message as the summer season approaches. As a husband, father, son and worker in the kingdom I needed to hear it.
We had a holiday team today missing five members due to vacations and a youth mission trip to Washington DC. The next few months will be filled with Sunday's like this one. That being said God continues to bless us with musical gifts to fill in.
We opened with Everlasting God [Chris Tomlin] and then went into our Prayer of Focus. What followed was a failed attempt of Fields of Grace [Darrell Evans] which I crashed and burned on. I just had a brain freeze. I realized right away that we needed to start it over again... and afterwards cruised through the next portion of worship singing Blessed Assurance [Hymn] and See [Eddy Mann]. After declaring our Statement of Faith we sang It Is Well With My Soul and heard today's message. We closed with a time of reflective singing and then ended with How Great Is Our God.
So as I face the week ahead it'll be with an eye toward the resting moments.

Great list, Eddy. It really fit the Sabbath rest theme well - the idea of rest not just as a time of taking it easy, but rather a life of resting, trusting, in God. Have a restful week!
