The Plan 09.09.12

(A glimpse at the creation of this worship leader's weekly music plan.)

This is week two of our series on transition. It's also Grandparents Sunday so we have some extra kid stuff going on.

The songs centered a little more on trust this week. Trusting in God to see us through the transitions of our life.

Early on in the week I once again experienced a number of declines when the  team assignments were emailed out. It made me rethink the songs choices a bit.

Our gathering song will again be Matt Redman's The Heart of Worship. After the we lost our percussion people I felt like we might want to go back to this which song which was wonderful last week.

We'll be blessing our preschool teachers at the beginning of our service this week so there will once again be a bit of a gap before we move on to our opening worship time.

Chris Tomlin's Awesome is the Lord on High will open this time. Somehow we haven't overdone this one and it sings nicely in the key of 'G' which will make for a nice segue into our next song.
Key line: We will trust You when You call our name.

Thank You For Loving Me will follow. One of Tommy Walker's standards at out church. I brought this back a couple of weeks ago on our Music Sunday. I love the line the says " Your love will always protect, and trust, and hope, and will have no end."

About a year ago I wrote a refrain section for the hymn Christ Is The World's Redeemer. As I was preparing it for this week I found myself singing a new into which we'll also reprise on the end. It's new name is Let It Be.

This week's sending song will be a song that's on Jared Anderson's new release. I haven't heard it yet, but we've been worshipping with it for a couple of years. Co-written with Jonathan Lee Pouring It Out For You has been an enormously popular song for us.

Once again our numbers will be small, but not our worship!

Pray on,
Eddy
