Rescued

I have a dear friend, who with his wife, have a passion, I'll call it a ministry, for rescue dogs. Hardly a week goes by when they're not offering their time and gifts to reach out to this community.

A few weeks ago, before one of my services, we talked as we usually do and he made reference about a little beagle that had only been staying with them for a short period of time.

He commented on how the little guy's personality had changed after only a few days with them. How all he needed was a little love, and how he himself started responding with the same kind of love and affection.

Our world as it's set up now, is often an environment that we need to be rescued from. It's values and rewards are not always aligned with what's spiritually best for us.

If you're being beaten down, or defeated everyday by the rewards and values that only offer puppy love, it's going to be hard to respond positively.

Measure this world's response to those in the margins with the reactions of our Savior. Re-evaluate, re-examine, and then re-act to your environment.

If you know someone who's in need of rescue, or you yourself are in need, remember we're already rescued. Our living Father sacrificed his Son for us rescuing us from ourselves.

Go live in love, share in love, ...be love.

Pray on,
Eddy
