My wife and I have become regulars at catching a monthly moonrise or two. It's a passion that has grown in each of us over the past couple of years.
We've found it especially inspiring from the beach. Watching the moon rise over the ocean has become a wonderfully spiritual event, and I'm always reminded just how blessed we are to be able to share it together.
And so it was a week or so ago, that we had planned a sunset trip to the coast for a Blue Moon rising. The skies looked good, the weather was cooperating and the calendars were empty.
As the day progressed it became evident to me that I felt the need to share this night with my father and sister. My wife was as usual, accommodating to the change of plans as long as we were still going.
I really wanted both of them to experience the beach and ocean again. I thought this could be a joyful night for both of them. A trip that wouldn't have them battling the heat of day.
What I experienced was an amazing night of joy for myself. I spent two glorious hours on a pier bench watching the moonrise with my father. We shared stories from our past and also the last six months without my mother.
It was an unforgettable evening... one I'll always remember. All I really wanted to do, was to bring my father a moment of comfort and joy, and in return God blessed me with one of the most joyful evenings of my life.
There's a message there but I won't ruin it by over analyzing it. I won't even quote scripture or preach even a little. I'll just share the photo my wife captured, and let it speak, what I can't.
Pray on,
Eddy
