A Birthday Note

On the eve of my sixtieth birthday a young twenty-something said, "Wow, you've got really nice hair!” Okay, so I enjoyed that just a little bit.

When I got home I received an email informing me that two of my songs were requested for an upcoming soundtrack. Okay, this one broke a smile.

When I woke this morning the first thing on my calendar was leading worship, now for me it doesn’t get any better then that.

This birthday has been a wonderful time of reflection. And I’ve come to realized that my life is about the time we've spent together, the moments, the memories, the mountain tops and the lowlands.

As I’ve reviewed my life an amazingly joyful feeling has grown concerning the future. I’m genuinely excited about what tomorrow holds for me, and what I can accomplish. Some things don't work like they used to anymore, but nothing has changed to stop me from doing God's work.

Four continents wished me well over the past twenty-four hours. What an amazing time we live in when a person like myself could touch, and be touched, by so many. Thank you to everyone who greeted me, called, wrote, emailed, mentioned, and/or tweeted. You practiced a sign of love by reaching out to me, may you be blessed by that.

Pray on,
Eddy
