Rise Up

We all have those days when nothing goes right. When everything we say comes out wrong; when everything we do falls short of expectations; and all of creation just seems lined-up against us.

No matter the challenge, the darkness, the weight, we can walk with a greater power, we can walk in the light, we can walk with the one who says give me your luggage.

Jesus arrives with his hands not in his pockets, but reaching out, reaching out to calm us, to comfort us, to carry our bags, not holding us down, but lifting us up.

He is the love that heals us, that strengthen us, that champions us to overcome, to achieve, to become like him, to become love. He is the risen one who wants us to rise up, rise up to be heard, to be seen, to be love.

I wake up early just to find myself late
I'm definitely maybe gonna hurry ans wait
Even when the world appears to be on my side
Somehow all the honesty will only be denied
I'm feeling a darker shade of blue
But with your help I can see this through

And rise up, for today is the day
I'll rise up, and walk the narrow way
I'll rise up, and know what to say
I'll rise up, and make a difference today

I went to bed so I could lie awake
I'm the definition pf the perfect mistake
Even when I take the time to try my best
Somehow I always find a way to fail the test
I'm feeling a darker shade of blue
But with your help I can see this through

And rise up, for today is the day
I'll rise up, and walk the narrow way
I'll rise up, and know what to say
I'll rise up, and make a difference today

(from the Dig Love Album)

Pray on,
Eddy
