We're in the beginning phases of a series on "Radical Abundance" ... asking the question which God do you pray to? Our Youth Pastor [Mark] delivered the message in his usual amusing and passionate way.
We were missing six team members [mostly singers] but still had enough gifts to lead with vibrancy. We introduced two new songs "Say So" and "The Stand". A little dangerous but the spirit was with us. I prayed all week about this and felt like it was the right choice.

Hosanna! I want to do that one soon.
ReplyDeleteEddy, I've seen "Friend of God" on a bunch of Sunday setlists this week. (including ours) Just a really cool song. (and our drummer likes the disco beat...)
ReplyDeleteIs the "He Reigns" song that you played at the end the same song that the Newsboys covered? If so, love the "unity of the church" appeal of that song.
Sometimes it's EASIER to introduce new songs when you've got less singers. It's certainly been my experience that in general our musicians are better preparers than our singers. No knock on the singers, maybe it's just that musicians are more used to coming to rehearsals prepared and have more experience. God had a reason for keeping your team smaller that weekend!
Thanks for sharing, brother.
Blessings,

Wow, two new songs in a week. I wish we would be so brave.
