"Keep On Keepin' On"
Today we celebrated our Affirmation Sunday. Fifteen or so young teens affirmed their faith publicly this morning. They wrote and shared their own statement of faith... God smiled, and we were blessed.
Technically we overcame all the wrinkles in this morning's time of preparation. All the usual bumps in the road. We even recognized a new young gift in our midst (Caitlin Frazee) who sang a moving version of He Know My Name.
Pre-service rehearsals seem to always provide their own moments of affirmation. They also provide a platform to exhibit our faith.
There were any number of affirmation moments that were apparent in our service today. I would pray that this morning's message would help us all become more aware of these moments through each passing day.
The cleansing experience is one that we all need. The reminder of what is offered to us each morning as we rise. The gift that cost us so little... "I call that a bargain, the best I've ever had"
